The team at Russell Cairns Marine & 4X4 suspect their dealership recently sold a boat to Quintrex’s oldest new boat purchaser.
Kevin Robertson of Lake Purrembete Caravan Park, Warrnambool, turns 97 years old in October and recently purchased a 420 Estuary Angler.
According to Karen Whitehead from Russell Cairns Marine & 4X4, Kevin loves his fishing.
“Kevin likes to spend a lot of his time fishing in the local lake if conditions are suitable” Karen said.
“He lives in the local caravan park and keeps his boat moored permanently at a jetty on the lake.
“He was very involved in the purchasing process and drove 40 minutes to the dealership on a number of occasions to visit his boat.
“And he named the 420 Estuary Angler ‘Nu Voice’ as he has lost his voice box,” she said.
The team at Russell Carins Marine & 4X4 ensured the boat was user friendly and comfortable for Kevin.
“We ensured everything was safe and secure with locks and we added a capstan to allow the easy release and retrieval of the anchor,” Karen said.
“We also adjusted the height of the driver’s seat and lowered the passenger seat to make driving and fishing more comfortable for Kevin,” she said.
Russell Cairns Marine & 4X4 Dealer Principle, Russell Cairns personally delivered Kevin’s vessel and made a second visit with Rob Fairbridge to ensure the boat was set up properly and that Kevin was managing everything.
“The boys wanted to ensure everything was set up in the safest most secure way and that everything was easy to manage,” Karen said.
“Being able to provide Kevin with his dream boat so he can enjoy his favourite past-time has been a wonderful and warming experience for all of us.
“We are frequently in contact with Kevin and enjoy helping him with his boat,” she said.
